×Being pregnant with my second daughter, Zoe, in 2008, I created a children's furniture brand named J4KID and hosted a shop at 444-2 hami road.
Ten years have passed. Zoe has grown into a young girl of ten and the J4KID furniture store had a makeover at the end of spring 2018. We are coming back together with a new platform--L’Etincelle Art & Design Space.
In April 2017, we were suddenly notified at the factory near the American School in Shanghai. In order to cope with the government's environmental remediation, our factory must move out of Shanghai. We have experienced the first anniversary of the factory, located in Yixing City, Jiangsu Province, three hours’ drive from Shanghai. In the year we left, we received many inquiries from old customers. They ask if or when we will come back. Finally, we are back. Different from the past J4KID store, J4KID regular products will be sold directly in our online store.
We have newly opened a series of original furniture lines developed in cooperation with designers. The furniture will be on display in the same space as the paintings of our Chinese artists. Furnitureand home accessories created by furniture designers and artists are also under development.
The design training center ShanghaiLayers will set up a long-term studio in the space and features computer design software training courses for teenagers and adults. We will also invite Chinese and foreign artists to hold various art events from time to time in the space.
In the past 10 years, J4KID has been passed on by the old customers and asteady stream of new Expats come into Shanghai every fall. This fall, we hopethat you still can support the 10 year old J4KID furniture together with the L’Etincelle Art & Design Space. Here, J4KID's classic old products will continue to be sold. We also continue to accept custom-made, unconventional product orders. In order to thank all the old customers for their support, we will have a small thank you reception on September 15-16, 2018. We sincerely invite everyone to attend. At that time, you can enjoy contemporary oil paintings by 6 Chinese artists and one European artist. Original design furniture by the German architect Sophia Slingerland will be on display, together with J4KID's new 2018 products. A J4KID gift bag is planned for each guest. Also, each guest will receive a L’Etincelle Art & Design Space VIP discount card.
